I told her to go to urgent care. They'll make a better determination, bind the toe properly and maybe give her one of those injured-foot-sandals. If nothing else, they too will tell her to wear flats. I told her if it is sprained, walking on it could aggrivate the problem making it take longer to heal and wearing heels will only make that worse. If it is broken, and it heals wrong or if it heals in an upward-pointing position because of the heels (which I know is unlikely, but possible), they'll have to break it again to set it properly. This was an hour ago, I can still hear her typing away in the next cube.
The fear of doctors can be a strange and powerful thing.
