They seem to have kept the kids in a single meeting room for much of the morning and for some reason were showing them commercials for Mars products. Naturally, the company dog wandered into the room and when she saw children, decided to stay.
I've discovered that they've put one of those horrible devices on the dog that shocks her when she barks. At this point, why have a dog here at all?
Today is National Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day. I preferred it when it was just daughters. Bringing sons seems to dilute the intention of the day. It doesn't seem like "this is what work is like, this is what you can do" it is "this is where mommy/daddy works."
There are still some sweet moments to be seen though. There was one guy bringing his 2 early teen daughters about, they might have been 12. The younger looking one would not let go of dad's hand/arm. She looked so nervous. This is why the day was set up in the first place, to instill confidence and dreams in young women who traditionally haven't had the opportunity or encouragement. Adding boys just seems like it ruins everything. Evidently boys = ham.
