I haven't posted in a bit. Perhaps it is because I was stunned for 1d6 days. On Sunday I drove through Belmont on my way to Spikes in Davis Square. I was headed to meet up with people who had watched Harry Potter on IMax. From all reports it was kinda cool on the big screen what with the 3D and all. However, that's neither here nor there. I am not a fan of Harry Potter, so I met everyone after. What stunned me was what I saw while driving on Rt60 in Belmont: A covered wagon.
Yes, I saw a covered wagon that had been pulled over by 2 police cars. People were starting to come out of their houses to gawk. The wagon was pulled by 2 clydesdales, very pretty horses. The driver was a fully bearded man, the type you'd expect to see driving a covered wagon, should you happen to pass one. He had a website, naturally. emilytheslayer spotted it on the way back (he was still there, holding forth to the assembled crowd). All I'd seen on the way was that the sign said Montana to Boston. Montana!
The web site is something like lee montana logger or something. emilytheslayer likely remembers precisely what it is. She looked at it when we got home. He some hippy from Montana who'd discovered he had cancer and thought to himself "I think I'll drive a covered wagon to Boston to visit my childhood sweetheart." 'cause really, isn't that everyone's natural reaction when they discover they have cancer? He'd apparently set out on August 2006 with 2 weeks of food. He's also not big on planning.
