Saturday of Japan

I've decided I'm going to post a day at a time. I wrote up each day while in Japan, except for the last few which I wrote up upon returning home. I figure I'll post a day per day and you'll all get to ignore it in real time!

We got up at around 7:30, I went to do some laundry and then we met inochinoakari for lunch. We headed out at around 1:30, stopping at the Wellesly library to return a book and renew another one. We then went to Lis & Doug’s to pick up NotDuck and some of his business cards for our trip. While we may take some pictures of him elsewhere in Japan, my primary goal is to get a picture of him with George Takei.
We departed Lis & Doug’s after getting a surprise, bonus chaoticmoth visit at around 2 and proceeded to NJ, getting to 84 mostly on Rt. 20 because of some horrible traffic on the pike. We arrived in NJ, hit the Willowbrook Mall to get some pants (jeans for me, I need to dispose of all the other pairs I have as they're worn out) and a few Japanese phrasebooks. I couldn’t decide which of 3 to get, so I got all three and all three have been useful as of Tuesday!
After the mall, we went and visited Pete & Keiko. Matt & Colin showed us their cool new bunkbeds and that they’re still insane balls of energy. They made up a great game of tag/chase/you’re-the-monster that they showed us, running circles around the dining room table for much of the time we were there. Keiko told us some neat stuff to do in Tokyo and gave us invaluable advice on navigating the trains. I must remember to get her the green tea powder she asked for. We’d have liked to finish the day by seeing Rich & Steph, but Rich never called me back. Sad. We went instead to our motel in Parsippany (Ramada on 46) and spent a pleasant night.
