After getting these, I still had time to kill, so I spent far too much money at Comicopia's annual sale. I got some good stuff and spent less than I would have otherwise, 'cause there was the sale, but I also bought more than I would have otherwise.
After Comicopia, I still had time to kill, so I went to Uburger, which claims to be excellent. They lie. They only cook their burgers medium-well. Blech. And the fries weren't very good either. It was like going to Sonic without the fun. And the food wasn't quite as good as Sonic either. Ah well, at least now I know they suck.
On the way home, we stopped at the 88 Supermarket and were briefly trapped by the Chinese New Year.
Saturday night I went to ioianthe and ryan4d2's place to sing kareoke in celebration of mjhockabout2's birthday. We were going to go to Legends in Waltham, but it was apparently very crowded and poorly run. A good time was had by all with Singstar instead.
Sunday emilytheslayer and I met aliwings and head58 for some spice shopping at Penzeys Spices. Since we're going to be cooking more, spices might help. We got a whole bunch of stuff and I'll post when I make things with them. Sometimes I'll follow recipies, sometimes I'll just try stuff. We'll see what happens.
After this, Em and I went to a sewing store in Arlington to look for more zipper pulls. We didn't find any good ones for boots. On the way out, we were going to go to the bagel store next door, but the skies opened up with heavy, cold rain. We jumped in the car as it turned to sleet and decided not to go to the bagel place. Moments later it turned to snow.
We headed to Wild Willys so I could have a good burger and fries and shake and by the time we got there, it had cleared up and there was a beautiful, blue sky.
We hit the supermarket on the way home and picked up olive oil and other things, so we're all set for cooking.
Many thanks to ryan4d2 and others who returned my Guitar Hero receivers while we were out. Apologies to mebib. We'd told her we'd be home all day Sunday, and at the time I thought we would. We were not.
