This was the first weekend of playoffs and there were 3 fairly boring blowout games and one exciting, overtime, high-scoring game. That one ended up being the most dissapointing and the one that pissed me off. That game ended because the refs apparently decided they had better things to do, or didn't want to have to pay the babysitter more or just wanted to go home. Had the Packers ended up losing legitimately, I'd have been dissapointed, but that's how it goes sometimes. The refs decided not to call any penalties on Arizona during overtime. Helmet to helmet on Rodgers? Ignored, they called a hold against the Packers instead. Facemask on Rodgers on the last play? No big deal apparently. Even the missed call earlier in the game where they decided Fitzgerald could just knock down the defender to get a td, ok these things can be missed sometimes. But to not call such egregious penalties in OT in the Playoffs? There's supposed to be booth review. They should have caught that. If you want to argue "just let them play" they shouldn't have called the hold. The refs ruined this game.
And this wasn't even the worst penalty calling this weekend. Jerry Jones apparently bought himself some refs for the Cowboys game. The Eagles wouldn't have won anyway, but the refs did everything short of make tackles themselves to hand the game to the Cowboys.
