The guy at the video store was nice enough to only charge me for it being 20 days late instead of 27 in an attempt to bring down the late fee.
The U-Haul trailer is also returned. The guy at the rental place that directed me more frantically than was needed in backing up the trailer into the spot disconnected the trailer wrong and I almost left with several of their indicator wires still connected to my truck. Luckily I saw it in time and returned them. I also got to use a hitch stand for the first time. These should be mandatory on all trailers, or even built in!
I also got the drapes back from the cleaners, now to hem them!
If telling people what has been is an update, what's a downdate? Is that telling people what will happen or what didn't happen?
The neighbor's car has a bumper sticker that says "Think Good Thoughts". It makes me want a bumper sticker that says "Don't make me wish you to the cornfield!"
One of the Democratic senators that was part of the "compromise" today about judicial nominations, of which I am still of two minds, is named Landrieu. Of course she was able to get the compromise passed, they HAD to "obey the will of Landrieu!" At least until Kirk and Spock destroy the computer...
At work, I've decided the best course of action is to make the repairs they want to the existing programs and then rewrite them all from scratch. There are so many unused components, references, forms and out of date controls that it is just easier this way. The code is also pretty bad. There are GoTo statements everywhere, loops are run multiple times on large recordsets when they only need to be run once, the database isn't being used properly and isn't automated at all. Best to just start over, they'll be stunned at how fast it ends up running.
