Sunday we got everything out quickly, I remembered some things I'd forgotten the previous day and then I began a fool's game: Waiting for the people that said "I'll be back for that". Not one of them showed up. Not even the woman that said it that day. Bah! I had $200 on a laser printer and was willing to go as low as $100. Naturally, the guy wouldn't make a counter offer until I said $100 and then he said $50. I told him where to stick his $50 and sent him on his merry way.
The highlight of Sunday came when Emmalyon and joncwriter were off at lunch with her aunt. Most of you have heard the story already, but for those who haven't
An attractive woman, probably early to mid 30s got out of her car, said hello and wandered to the magazines. After perusing them for a bit, she picked out one of Joncwriter's Rolling Stone magazines and wandered over toward me. The CDs Joncwriter was selling were right in front of me and she knelt down to go through them. She looked up at me and said "How come you're selling these Creed CDs?"
Not wanting to screw up the sale by saying "'Cause Creed SUCKS", I said "Those are my roommate's CDs. He is getting married and they are getting rid of duplicate CDs." Also correct, but more polite. She chatted with me about that and other music for awhile, paid for the magazine and stood up to go. But she kept finding things to talk about. Computers, my job, growing up listening to Jazz and Big Band music, Satelite radio and tv, can I give her free advice about her computer problems and so on.
After some time of this, she asked for my email address and phone # so she could call me for computer help. I said I don't really do that, but she knows where I live, so feel free to stop by.
Why didn't I give her the phone # or email if she was attractive and seemed interested? Well, it all begins with her liking Creed and gets worse from there. She was distressed about her computer crashing right when it did because she's a member of a fan site that can get really good tickets to a performer's concerts. The Performer? Elton John... She mentioned a few other bands in that genre too. This wasn't the main thing that killed it though. When we were talking about music and radio, she said she didn't get to listen to the kind of music she likes all that much any more because her children only want to hear kiddie music. She has 1 that is 2 and 1/2 and another that is younger. She was wearing a ring too, but it wasn't necessarily a wedding ring. Either way, I've no desire to go that route.
Oh well, at least it was flattering.
aidosaur helped me put everything away Sunday at around 4 and it all fit quite nicely, giving us more space in the garage. This week I want to throw out more and process more of the recycling.
Later this summer I want to have 1 more garage sale and then donate the rest to charity. I'm saving the signs for that very purpose. I had had a large chair that is almost a love seat in the sale. Kaisilverwolf knows which one, it is nice and comfy. No one inquired about it. I sat in it again for the first time in awhile and was reminded just how comfy it is. I may just have it reuphosltereed and keep it. It NEEDS reupholstering.
